Our Story
Some places begin as dreams…
Ours began as a simple desire to escape the city and spend time closer to nature. What started as a private retreat slowly grew into two unique nature stays that we are now delighted to share with guests.
Our story begins with two people who share a deep love for nature.
Anil and Anju, both working in the IT industry in Bengaluru, spent many years in the fast paced world of technology. Their true passion, however, has always been wildlife, nature and the quiet beauty of the outdoors.
After returning to India, they decided to buy a piece of land deep inside the forests of Wayanad. Their intention was simple. To create a peaceful escape from the city where they could spend weekends surrounded by nature.
What began as a personal retreat slowly evolved into something much larger. Over time, their passion project grew into two unique boutique stays, Jungle Retreat Wayanad and Wayanad Treehouse. Both have been welcoming nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts for nearly twenty years.
While the forests of Wayanad captured their love for wildlife, they also shared another passion. Quiet beach destinations where they could relax, listen to the waves and watch the sun set over the sea.
During one of their explorations along the northern coast of Kerala, they discovered a small piece of paradise near Kannur. A secluded cliff overlooking a quiet beach cove and the vast Arabian Sea.
Just like their retreat in Wayanad, they initially built the villa here purely for their own use. A place to slow down, enjoy the sea breeze and spend peaceful time by the ocean.
Over time they realised that there were many travellers who sought the same things they did. Quiet spaces, beautiful natural settings and simple, meaningful experiences close to nature.
Today they warmly welcome guests who share these values to experience both the forests of Wayanad and the peaceful coastline of Kannur. Places created with the same spirit in which they were first imagined. Personal escapes into nature.
We look forward to welcoming you to our little corners of nature.
